            现代社会对健康的关注越来越多,特别是现在残疾人士和老年人的生活倍受社会各界注目。目前,我国各类残疾人士有6000万,加上老龄化人口更是上亿人,约占中国人口总数的1/10,其中老人残疾人占老年人口的4.3%。传统的家庭护理模式也在发生变化,未来家庭的独立化,瘫痪老人将面临自理生存的挑战,很多家庭照顾瘫痪在床的老人也表现出力不从心。目前护理设备还很缺乏,为瘫痪老人的设计考虑还很不周到。美国学者查尔斯.D.戴维也曾指出,老年人,特别是不得不长期卧床的老年人来说,他们更强调舒适、安全、便利、社会参与和传统价值。因此针对截瘫老人的护理设备产品的设计研究就显得尤为重要。
